Our Story

Growing up in a Brazilian family, Maya understood very early on that happiness often came from the kitchen. Whether making homemade bread and pasta with grandma or baked goods with mom, “from scratch” was always the one and only way to get things done. Recipes, measurements, and ingredients were always just a suggestion, and creativity in the kitchen a way of life. Around the age of 8, Maya set out to find make the perfect chocolate chip cookie. She shared her findings with her family and friends and adjusted the recipe as she received feedback. By the time she reached middle school, Maya was ready to share her cookies with the world. She started by selling her cookies to her neighbors “Lemonade Stand” style and to some of her friends. The positive feedback was incredible, and from there, Cookies by Maya was born.

Cookies by Maya is based on generational recipes and methods, and a passion for flavors, flair and dramatics. Our creative side is clear not only through our flavors, but also through our custom presentations. Most importantly, Cookies by Maya strives to create baked goods that bring joy to our customers.

Our baking philosophy is based on a few simple principals:

3. When it comes to flavors, if our customers can dream it, we can make it.
